Does the engine crank? It could very well be the timing belt, clogged fuel filter, or even bad plug boots.

If the engine cranks, I'd check the timing belt. If it doesn't crank, check the battery/ground connections.

A clogged fuel filter will keep it from firing even if it cranks.

The Sportage plug wires/boots have been known to crack and not allow enough spark get to the plugs to fire the engine.

Pull the plugs on cylinder #2 and #4 the ones with the black block over the plug and inspect the entire black plastic piece to see if there are any cracks. There is also a fuse inside the rubber boot so be careful when you pull the rubber boot off this plastic housing.
