The best mileage I've gotten was when we moved from Michigan to Colorado last fall. The '98 average 20.1 mpg. We were driving around 60 mph most of the way since I was pulling a trailer with our '03 Montero and I couldn't go any faster and feel comfortable. I got about 11 mpg withe the '03 pulling the loaded trailer <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Typically I get between 16 and 17 mpg with mixed driving in the '98. I told my wife we will have to start using her Montero for trips after I get the new tires installed!
