i dont have a new exhaust on my kia yet, but on other vehicles i have had good experiences with both the magna flows and the dynomax ultra flows.
personally i prefer my ultraflows over the magna flows, but i am sure the difference would be next to nothing between the two if thrown on a dyno.

Are the Dynomax's louder, quieter, or about the same as the MagnaFlow? I liked the power of the MagnaFlow but it was to loud and raspy on the Kia, sounds great on most V8s though.

Before you go to these extremes, I'd first recommend changing the fuel filter, replacing the plugs with premium plugs, and also changing ALL the engine related fluids. This includes the oil, coolant, power steering fluid and break fluid while your are at it.

This will probably make the biggest improvements.

Next I'd recommend changing the air filter to at least a new filter or the drop in K&N.

Then I'd recommend replacing the transmission, transfer case, and differential fluids.

After you've done all these and you still want more power, then start making the mods to the exhaust, polishing the intake and exhaust ports, and adding the K&N cone filter with a box designed to make it a cold air intake.

Awesome advice Logan!

the dynomaxs are louder, i have a dual setup on my 3.1 chev cavalier z24.

i have actually had people question whether or not i had done a v8 swap into it.

i am thinking that my buddy just a flowmaster on his sporty and it sounds really nice as well, and gave it a little bit of jump over stock. most likely what i am putting on mine. the skidplate version offroad muffler

Maybe I'll check in to the flowmaster then. I am going to a 2 1/2" this time, It may be to big at first but my boy and I are putting together a 89 Probe GT for me to drive back and forth to work so when I can give my Kia a break for a while we are going to finaly put on the turbo. I allready know that a MagnaFlow sounds good on a FE3 with a turbo, my boy ran one on is Probe.

Thanks for the feed back on the Dynomax, Dennis

So far I'm just running with the drop in K&N & 2.25" exhaust. Had a buddy with Carline Muffler do the exhaust. He suggested going with the 2.25" cuz he felt that any bigger would reduce backpressure to a point that it could also reduce performance(need to maintain resonable backpressure for optimum performance). You guys prolly already know that . We also went with no 'cat' & no resonator(commonly used to replace 'cat' to reduce noise) & the Carline house brand Turbo Z III muffler(Carline's version of the Magnaflow). I like this setup & lots of people have commented on how good it sounds. My wife hates it but then again she drives the minivan .

Now I have to make the time to do the sparkplug upgrade & hone out the intake then I should be rockin'

The stock size is probably 1 3/4 inches maybe 2 but I doubt it.
