I was bitten by the bug when visiting ny bro a few years ago. We spent the better part of a week going from Basalt to Durango, though Uncompagre (sp?) and other "classic" places like Engineer, Imogene, etc. It was across Memorial day weekend and they had just gotten many of the passes opened that week. Come to think of it, Imogene was still under way. I remember seeing the dozer way up there at the end of his day, not to the top yet.
It was awesome, driving through some areas where the skiers were hiking up to the bowls that still had snow left. There were some sections where it was hard to see above the snow on either side of the trails. All that, and the air temp was in the 70s.
Colorado is awesome... We need a 2009 trip to happen. I have a new job an money is finally about to flow again. I could make a trip next year.

Y'all should do that! A couple weeks before 09/11/01 (*cough* *cough* August) I went snowboarding down St. Mary's Glacier (about an hour from Denver).

[I am starting to disike all the lucky people who live in CO... ] Yeah, I'm jealous. All the beautiful mountains aside, the way those guys are getting together to help each other bums me out...when is a Monty lovin' mechanic going to move into my neighborhood?? I'd definitely be up for a get together, and if you need a project, my baby needs some work. < now back to your regularly scheduled thread >

Hows about tuesday fellas?
What time works for you guys? Anytime Tuesday works fine for me. Consider, however, that I'd be driving up from the Springs, so planning around the rush hours in Denver would be much appreciated. Guys, Aside from the two listed gaskets above, what others should I order from Mitsubishi parts to have on hand?
Valve cover gasket? Does it come with the moons? P/N?
What about a Fuel Pump? I can get a new one on eBay for $60. Is it needed? Yes, you'll want a valve cover gasket since we'll be pulling the valve cover (and I think your's was leaking anyway?) The OEM part numbers are: GASKET, ROCKER COVER PNC CODE - 01110 P/N - MD024682 QTY - 1 SEAL, CYLINDER HEAD C RUBBER PNC CODE - 01221 P/N - MD020718 QTY - 1 For the fuel pump, that's up to you whether you want to order one or not. You could order one, pull it, and find that it's good anyway and you'll wind up having bought a spare, or you could hold off ordering it, pull it, and find that you need it and then have to wait for your order to come in. Up to you. OEM info: FUEL PUMP ASSY PNC CODE - 05500A P/N - MD138586 QTY - 1 Also, if your haven't checked yet, verify whether or not you have a Mitsu air filter installed in the air cleaner that sits atop the carb. If not, be certain to get a new filter to put in there. ELEMENT, AIR CLEANER PNC CODE - 11020 P/N - MD620047 QTY - 1 And then there's the ducting that runs from the fender wall inlet to the air cleaner (which you appear to be missing): DUCT, AIR CLEANER INT PNC CODE - 11089 P/N - MD069400 QTY - 1 Although, you most certainly can get one from a local junkyard both quicker and cheaper than ordering it. A little insider-info: get your oil filters and drain-plug gaskets from the dealer. They're the best filters for that engine, they're cheap, and (so far for me anyway) they always have them on-hand. I usually buy them by the half-dozen. BTW: I'm looking these part numbers up using my VIN. Those part numbers that I've given you so far should still be good, but for future reference you may want to PM your VIN to me to be sure. When I head up there, I'll try to remember to bring a copy of the CAPS program along so you can look these up yourself (unless you've already downloaded it from http://www.mitsubishilinks.com/fsm/wincaps.zip). Come whenever the traffic flow works best for ya. If you want to be here at 0800, I'll be up. 10am, noon, it's all good. Lunch is on me. I bought everything you guys suggested. I sure hope Satanonline gets them here by Monday! ![[Linked Image]](http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j258/imzadi930/raiderpartsANON.jpg)

Wow! ...you don't waste any time!

So... if I punch out the cat(s) or run a test pipe , will this carb'd 2.6 run lean?

The CAPS question will probably need Joe to answer...
But the exhaust question: the cat is for smog, bypassing it won't effect anything upstream other than perhaps cause you to now have not enough back-pressure to idle as well. As long as the O2 sensor is on the downpipe (and working!), the carb will read the exhaust just fine.
