Hey Lefty, most parts stores like AutoZone, Oreilly' s Advanced buy tons of rebuilt stuff that has pretty low quality control. It isnt uncommon to go thru several "new" ones til you get a good one. I bought a 100 amp alternator off ebay from a seller called "alterstart" They are in the biz of rebuilding high output alternators and starters. Altho I cant attest to the longevity of thier product, I can tell you it has kept my battery at peak thru some heavy "start-no fire" sessions with my project. You cant beat the price, $90 plus shipping for 100 amps. This guy does higher amp stuff too but they get pretty pricey. I bought the higher amp than stock to run my winch, lighting etc on my rig. Heres a link to the 100 amp one but check out the others he does too. Hope this helps ya! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/notooth.gif" alt="" /> AlterStart
