Getting the Wheeling Fever
|
I have the strangest problem. Every so often (couple of days) the engine will turn over but not start. It'll run for a couple of seconds until the fuel in the float boal is gone then it dies. When I pull the fuel lines they are all dry. I've tried removing the gas cap while cranking to relieve any pressure that may have built up and visually inspected the fuel lines. They don't appear to be cracked or worn anywhere that I can see. The problem only comes about on warm days. Here's what I know:
- Fuel lines not clogged - pump works fine as long as there is fuel in the lines - only happens after it sits and cools down - fires up just fine after enough pressure builds in the tank to force the fuel to the pump
Where do you think the fuel is going? Could the pump still be causing this problem even though it's not weeping and seems to work just fine? Thanks for any help!
sorry, forgot this - '87 22r
