those pics bring back haunting memories, i did that twice in 4 months, but I am pretty familiar with the truck now. I can change and adjust the timing belt in under 20 minutes now.

I started taking the engine apart and found EVERYTHING has rust on it. valve covers getting rust bubbles, oil pan has bad rust flakes, and everything else has a nice coat of rust. I HATE road salt and I am glad RedHead Rebuilders are out of business. ![[Linked Image]](http://img236.imageshack.us/img236/9732/img0138gr7.jpg)

I've changed the TB once (including other ancillary parts like the water pump, pulleys, etc. and it took a good 4-6 hrs. I can see cutting that down dramatically but 20 minutes??

I can do it in about 2 1/2hrs with air tools and a tool helper. And that's after having done it a half dozen times.... Gotta call BS on 20 minutes, bro

time moves a little slower down here. you know the astigmatisms us southerners have. big words i know, i went to one of them state colleges. It took me about 5 tries to get the tension right on the TB so I got real good as to which order to pull the bolts and what not, but if its a race your looking for im up to the challenge; after this 95 degree heat and 100% humidity goes away, lets say around January. my engine swap was a learning experience and honestly without the help from this forum and you guys I would probably still be scratching my head thanks for all your help

In case my truck's not running, would someone please stop by Columbia and pick me up on your way to Mississippi? I don't want to miss the fun.
I must be doing something wrong because the tensioner automatically sets the timing belt tension on my engine. But if it can be adjusted, I probably should learn how to do it.
