Good to know I could actually just remove it, I thought that was the case. If I end up doing that would it be an issue to leave the rear one on?

I am pretty sure the bar is what was bent, is was quite a thump in the cab. Junk yard is probably what I'll do as I find time this summer...school and work keeps me pretty busy lol!
