Doing a little work on the Raider. Got a 4 crawler body lift from Roger, and I'm ditching the carpet in favor of Rhino lining or something similar. Going to look at a D44 this week, guy wants 200 bucks so we'll see what happens.

Carpet's out, floor's still solid. Check out the Crazy carpet fender patches, lol. Rotted out arround the plugs in the top of the fenders. Getting a friend to weld in some sheet metal.

After Body lift. Took it for a good hard ride, no tire rub at all now.

Put it up on the ramps to hose out the interior.

Flying solo for now.

Mud... Grrr

Man, thats a nice lil project vehicle Good luck on the D44

And the mud in the engine bay, def get all the gunk cleaned out. It will kill your performance and quickly shorten the life of your cooling system

I Pulled my carpet out once upon a time. I figured I'd rhino line it, and like it. Well.... It is Noisy, Hot, and uncomfortable. (though the best thing for submerging your truck all the time.)

I now ride with AC, Carpet, and Herc'd underneath.

Ripping out all of the carpet was the first thing I did when I got my Montero in early 2001. It's been bare floor ever since.

Works for me. But we have hot days here too and it's still no bother. What really makes a difference, though, is the lack of humidity.

my carpet has been out of my Raider for over 2 years now. Only thing I miss is the quiet ride. I will be installing new carpet after I fix that dented door jam.

I tried running rugless in a Jimmy I had a few years ago, but it was a daily driver and the noise/heat got to me. I put it back in about a week later. The raider only gets driven to and from the trail, and occasionally in between so I don't think it will be a problem. I got it last fall and I haven't even put 3000 miles on it since.

JC Whitney has a solid rubber kit that is molded to fit our trucks, you could still have the noise and heat under control and hose it out after the trails. I read the reviews and it looks like something might try. Has anyone ever gone with this?

Looks pretty sweet, a little too rich for my blood, but a good idea.
