Seal hideout -
[Linked Image]

Semantic correction - technically it's called a haul-out (even if they're hiding out).

Looks like a great trip, Creeper. I got my winch back from repair yesterday, release my kids from summer school on Friday, and your pics are inspiring me to guzzle some gas next week.

Glad everyone enjoyed those. It was a stellar trip.

Adam, thanks for the clarification on the seal haul-out. Actually 'hide out' was a guess, I've never heard of a haul-out. While taking pics of the lighthouse, I just happened to look down and there they were, hiding out. Pretty cool.

4xGeek, good to see you pop up now and again. Don't be such a stranger.

I have a few more trips from this Spring that I'll post up with pics shortly.

Near as I can tell from the pic, too, the seals are Stellar sea lions. Ya, they do that - sometimes a beach, sometimes a promontory like that that makes a human say "that looks like it'd be bruuuuutal to swim up." They're pretty regular about the places they choose to do it; it's not just anywhere you see a spot that looks likely. Cool find.

I have three leaky shocks, but am dying to make a tundra run in the couple of weeks I have off. I'll try to return the favor. That camera takes really sharp photos, too.
