Getting the Wheeling Fever
1st question...
Can the oil-pan gasket on a 1987 Toy 4x4 22RE be changed WITHOUT pulling the engine loose?...is it as simple as removing oilpan bolts then removing pan?

2nd question...
Just picked up this 89' Toyota 4x4
[Linked Image]
When truck is first started when cold, it revs about 2300rpm for about 10 minutes (which seems too much), but after driving for 30 minutes to work, idle seems ok...if i adjust idle lower for cold starting, its ok till i get to work, then its barely able to idle....ANY THOUGHTS?

Also...the rear suspension feels soft (almost bouncy)..What is involved in stiffening it up?

1. Usually need to lower the front diff or raise the engine up a few inches to get the oil pan out assuming IFS is still underneath.

2. Check the cold start injector time switch for starters.

3. Worn shocks can give a bouncy ride.

See the Factory Service Manual (FSM) for details, under throttle body, one of the two forward facing sensors there, typically the one on the right.
