My Jeep has GM V6 engine and a T10 transmission both from the late 1970's. I just got this rig, did a fair a bit of work and went for a road test. I'm darn sure the shifting pattern is up side down. Is that even possible? First gear is at the bottom, second straight up, third is down and to the right and fourth is up and to the right. I took out the Hurst linkage and cleaned it up and replaced the bushings but I swear I put it back together the way I took it apart.
If I remember correctly, it's possible to get things turned around depending on which way the shift levers on the tranny are pointing (up or down) and which shift arm you have it connected to on the shifter. Which shifter do you have? Hurst Competition Plus?
You should basically have a modified H pattern with first gear up and to the left and reverse down and to the left (I think).
