The washer should be a belleville type, with a slight dome which goes toward the bolt head. This puts a "spring" tension on the pulley at proper torque.

wait, what about the updated bolt that was as long as the factory original just skinnier, were those somehow causing failure as well? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

I have that updated one in mine. I hope it is not Chinese,,,Mitsu/KOYO/ ect.,etc. metal is all cast in China now. Bubbles in metal ,you know/
I have the 2nd improvement bolt and a Diamante bolt...one is going in real soon.

The one I replaced mine look similar to the shorter looking ones- Except you could put a 1/2 ext inside the hex head.

The bolt for the 3.0 12 valve has a shorter unthreaded area than the 3.0 24 and 3.5 i.e the HB is thicker in the 3.0 24 and 3.5 .
