Does anyone know if it's possible to replace both bearings for the rear output shaft on a gear-driven t-case without taking the case out of the truck? Looking at the FSM, the rear bearing looks easy but I don't know about the front one.
I'm having problems with a rebuilt Marlin Crawler case (play in rear shaft) and they sent new bearings to the shop that installed it for a warranty repair.
Thanks.

I would check the nut on the output shaft and make sure it has not backed off.
No it would be much easier to pull the case as you will have to remove the back covers to get at the bearing on the front of that shaft.
second thought I guess you could do it in the truck. just make sure the bottom of the truck is clean so you don't knock a bunch of crap in there.

Thanks. The flange nut is tight; first thing I checked. The underside of the truck is clean so I'll ask them to try it in the truck. If it looks like it won't work, they can pull it.

you have to replace that nut also. It has a crush sleeve which keep it from walking out.
