I take it you have had it tested and are high on the CO portion? I had my last one (88 2.6) and the first time round it flunked: 36k on CO particulates and limit was 25k I believe. Here's what I did: I ran the tank down to less than 1/8, went to Lowes and spent $14 on two gallons of denatured alcohol (which is of course is wood grain) and dumped in the tank.
