Yep - real - live MICE!!!
My Raider often sits parked from Friday until Monday - and lately I've been finding mouse poop on my seats when I come out on Monday morning.
Then this morning I found a MOUSE NEST in my glove box!!!!
I have to do something about this, but I don't want dead mice stinking up my truck (which would happen with poison).
Any suggestions to get the mice Out of my truck? Hopefully without making it become a rolling mortuary for dead rodents!
Any help appreciated!
Lee

Please! This is not a joke, I take my daughter to work each morning and I'm sure the rodent poop can't be good for her (or me).
Plus, the mice are still in the Raider as we drive - we can sometimes hear them.

sticky traps, bait (if you dont mind the smell of a dead mouse in your AC ducts), or a cat. pretty much your only options other than tearing the truck apart and finding them.

Mothballs...maybe.
These days I don't drive my Toyota pickup much. I mainly have it for its occasional utility and one day I hope to mod it. A few months ago, I jumped into it to head to a meeting and the engine cranked but wouldn't start. It had been a month or two since I'd driven it previously. I decided to jump into one of my other vehicles and have a later look. When I got around to working on it, I popped the hood. As soon as I did that, a squirrel came bolting out from underneath the hood and scurried off like nobody's business. I found that said squirrel and kin had chewed through the engine harness in one spot and a couple other wiring runs. I got it all respliced back together and the truck is running fine, but I wanted to prevent Mr. Squirrel from desiring to roost again. I taped mothballs along the portion of the engine harness that was chewed through, as well as in a couple other spots (away from high-heat areas) and there has been no sign of squirrel repopulation.
Now, you won't want to place mothballs on the floor of your truck. They're not really safe to handle (particularly by kids who don't wash their hands), but maybe you could put one or two in the glovebox. You'll want to approach the use of mothballs within the passenger compartment with some restraint. I'm not sure, but I think even the use of them in an enclosed area that you are breathing in might be hazardous. Check 'em out (read the fine print) and use your own judgement.

If you don't want to kill the mouse but just want it out, I recall seeing non-lethal traps. Add a bit of food (like the PB) and you should be set. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Well, I think sticky traps are pretty horrible, so I hesitate to use them. I worry about moth balls in my truck, it gets really hot in there during the day - I can see myself passing out and dying...
But the non-lethal traps might work ok, I'll give it a shot.
Thanks!

I have set mouse traps around the barn that are lethal, but totally enclosed. The mouse enters and doesn't come back out sorta deal... I think those would be perfect

DON'T KILL THE MICE! You'll hurt your HP. They just escaped from the wire wheel connected to the transmission.
