You could drain the oil and get a sample ... if it runs let it warm for a bit then get the sample.

Send the sample oil out to a lab ( blackstone is good) will tell you how much metal and anti freeze is in it and let you know how much damage the bad gasket did.

That should help you decide if you should repair your engine or not.
