Haven't heard of such an animal, but it would seem rather risky for any off-roading.

Do a google search and see what the costs are. Also the age/condition of the tire itself is going to be a factor. If the tire is over 6yrs old, or if the side walls are cracking, you would be better off just buying new/new used tires. Check craigslist/Pirate 4x4/Marlin, you can usually find tire/wheel combos for under $500, I don't think you could a set of tires re-treaded for less than that.
More than tread lightly. Leave it like you were never there, nor anyone else. '90 X-cab 4.88's 33 BFG AT's, rr ARB, Headers, Ignition upgrade, cold air induction. '91 X-cab 5.29's 315's BFG MT's, rr ARB, custom bumper and flatbed

I've worked at 2 places that use retreads. Both have been crap. On semi trucks, parts of the tread would come off. At the airport on baggage tugs, they leak a lot, but never loose the tread. I might run them offroad, but would NEVER run them onroad.

A guy my Brother works with bought a set and is running them on his 88 4runner.He has a few thousand miles on them with no problems but has only done mud and light trail rides with them so no experience with rocks and side walls.Just thought I'd let you know.

Around here, you can often find 33s that are about 25% used for about $300 a set, folks decide to move up and just don't want them anymore. You might only get another 20k miles , but who cares its an offroad vehicle, persoanlly I only put about 4k/year on mine anyway. IMO, you can get a decent set of used tires for way cheaper rthan teh retreads, and have more faith in them.
