Ok, here's my situation: I removed the factory head unit from my Montero a while back. The hole in the dash now houses my CB.
I don't have a radio, but for longer trips I would like to use my MP3 player.
My question is, what low-buck ghetto-fabbed solution can I put together to play my MP3 player on the vehicle's speakers?

No real cheap way because you need a amplifier . You can find brand new car Stereo with a MP3 input for around $80 or you can just buy a amp and use a mini-RCA cord direct to the amp.

LIke he said, you'll either need some sort of head unit, or some sort of amplifier.
Do you have a tape adapter for the MP3 player? If so, you can get a cheap tape deck for 20 bucks probably and use the tape adapter hooked to your mp3 player.

Get a small 25x2 amp, with two 6.5 or 6x9 speakers, and use a stereo to RCA plug to go into the amp. then use the mp3 player to change songs. very ghettorigged, but it will work just fine, and a small amp like that shouldnt cost more than 50 bucks, wiring, maybe another 20. speakers, a bit more. simple.

Why not use an FM transmitter? They come in the little ghetto accessory kits on the junk aisle at Wally world...
