I'm sure someone will jump on here and answer your question who has one that old or has dealt with one. My memory as a Yota mechanic from those days was that the resistor was mounted inside the housing next to, or almost right at the blower, and was a PITA to get in and out. I don't clearly rememember doing this to an early truck, but it seems like I replaced several of these back in the early 80's. I was looking around on the "net" for ya' but didn't see anything yet.
