Getting the Wheeling Fever

One of the coolant lines that feeds my rear heater burst. Northern road salt has finally did it in (the hole is located where the line passes under the floorboard). I don't care much about the rear heater, so i'm wondering if i can just take that section out of the coolant system loop by bypassing the line where the rear heater lines start by the firewall mount (pic link attached). This seems like a easy thing to do, but i'm wondering if i'm missing something important by doing so. need to get the runner back on the road asap, so input is GREATLY appreciated. http://gallery.me.com/jpc12#100038
