Hi all! Just saw a 1992 rhd swb pajero, with a 2.4 intercooled turbo. It has dual batteries, digital a/c control, automatic trans, bouncy seat, no rear locker (maybe lsd), adjustable suspension firm/soft and a manual choke. It has 118,000 kms and really clean.

my questions are:

Does it have the winter package? (is the dual batteries is a sign)

and what price should be a fair price for it? i live in Canada, the guy is asking 7500$

Dual batts suggests winter pkg, but check the back door, RHS for an orange/yellow sticker. It says the equivalent of winter package (but not in a language you'll likely understand ).

As far as LSD, you're looking for another orange sticker, driver's doorjamb. OR a little switch that says something like r.diff, or RDL, etc (likely next to the aux 12v scoket, low in the center stack).

$7500? Pretty good, esp if it has the timing belt done (due at 100k).

BTW, its called 2.5L, even though its 2.4-something-something-something liters.

Oh, and try going to see it unannounced, to see how it starts when cold.

The truck is sitting in the garage yard and the guy had to use a booster, the batteries were dead, other than that, it starts and idles fine.

For the timing belt: Is it a big job on these? He just received it from japan, don't think he changed the belt yet.
maybe i'll ask him to do it before i buy.

Also, is there a problem to get parts for these, i mean, dont wanna wait for my air cleaner to come from japan anyway, thanks for the fast and useful reply, if i sell the Raider fast enough, the Paj will be in my driveway in no time

Many service parts are available from Napa and Lordco.

You will want the timing belt and associated bits done if they haven't been done yet (every 100,000 kms)

Even if you can't get the parts at a local shop, they are usually available from some reputable import shops in Vancouver and should only take you a few days to get. Check the cross reference parts list on this site. The guys who have put it together have done a great job and it has helped me huge. Also find out who the guy imported from. If he bought it through an import company then they will likely have some commonly required parts such as timing belt kit etc.
