Getting the Wheeling Fever
Hey everyone. So I put on my spacer lift about a year ago and just now started trouble. Whenever im driving and hit a bump or drive in a high gear at low RPM's, my rig starts shaking like crazy!! I mean scary shaking. I tried droping my transfer case. that helped with some vibes with the shift knob, but didn't solve the problem at all. Went to a local 4X4 store and they said it was my Track bar. That one of the connections gets loose after a lift. Anyone want to comment? Is he right or could it be something else? Has anyone had a similar problem? Can I do the repair myself? Any help would be great. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Well it definitely sounds like something is loose or worn out. Does the vibration follow vehicle speed or engine speed? If it follows vehicle speed I would suspect something in the suspension or steering. If it follows the engine speed I would suspect something in the drive train.

I would crawl under it while having a buddy turn the wheel back and forth, and move all the suspension and look for any play in anything, (bushings, tie rod ends, loose bolts, a broken spring, etc.) if I suspected something in the suspension.

I would check each u-joint, and make sure all the lug nuts are tight, and if they were all good I would put the rig up on 4 jack stands and put it in gear, let it idle and see if anything was moving or vibrating that shouldnÆt.

check the bolt (Frame side) of the rear pan hard bar (ie trac bar) if you put a drop bracket (most likely came with the lift kit) some time the bolt strips in the drop bracket making the bracket move ie makes the rear end jump around, if a an offroad shop looked at it I would start there as well as follow the other posts advice
