It has a 312 T-Bird Special. The original 292 went 290,000 for my uncle, he had the 312 built about 3 years before he past away. I have put a Detroit locker in the rear and converted the generator to a Chevy 1 wire alternator. The tires are temperary, I bought them for my $100,00 83 Bronco. I was tryng to get $1,200.00 for the Bronco with no takers, I put on some stock wheels with the Kia's old 30x9.50s and got $900.00 with in a week. I did do other work to the Bronco so I didn't make as much on it as it looks.

I like that era of Chevys, they are tuff as nails and lots of aftermarket support. Mine is hard to find parts for, thay only made 2468 F100 4x4 stepsides so going all stock is not realy an option. I have been buying body parts as I get overtime at work. My plans are a custom stepside bed, and a 351 EFI and granny low five speed out of a 88-97 F250 2wd to keep my divorced t-case. I hope to have it done when the truck tunrs 50. I allready have a Detroit locker in the 9" rear but I want to find an open knuckle Dana44 with discs brakes for the front.
What have you done to yours and what are your future plans?

hey guys been a while since i been on here ........ just thought i would let you know that HUGE things have been happening to my sporty lately hey........ well......turbo IS on and almost sorted(exhaust manifold i made was to long so i have had to shorten it).... only runing 6psi boost ......standard computer setup....... intercooler is a pain in the arse to do.....have gone with a WRX top mount water to air unit as there is just NO room for a front mounted air to air unit......small aluminium radiator was able to be fitted (still had to trim the grille back a bit)......and a new 3inch exhaust was made and it splits into twin 2.5 inch pipes that come out before the rear wheels( looks ***** hot and sounds sweet as hey).........have all the bits for my live axle front end swap.......just have to have the time to do it .....Tis a mission and a half......message to all (if you are going to turbo you sporty)run low boost only as the standard computer with the standard airflow meter cant handle anything over 9psi.......i used a (aussie) hyundai excel Series 3 airflow meter ......will let you run 10psi no probs......but it does get a slight ping up top.....so 6psi will do........pics coming soon....... Cheers Ads <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Dennis,
I've completely rebuilt the engine, brakes, and rear end. My ultimate plans were to do a frame off restoration and get it back to better than show room quality, but now I'm thinking get it finished to be a reliable enjoyable ride and not spend to much money doing it.
It cruses so sweet at 45 mph that it begs to be taken out on a Sunday drive just for fun.

I just put a cone filter on my Sportage. What do I do with the sensor that used to be connected to the air filter box?

Thats the air temp sensor. just tuck it away somewhere where it won't get damaged, I just used a cable tie and fastened it to one of the old mounting posts/holes for the stock airbox.

That sensor if I am not mistaken is the air tempreture sensor.
3 thigs happen
1. Either you have a CEL ( or you are going to, because of the 2 2. beeng inside the hot engine bay the ecu thinks that in inserted air to the engine is hot an messes the fuel mixture ratio and/or sometime might get out of range, say becayse of extreme cold or hot and throu you the cel 3. because of the above usualy your fuel milage goes down...
either way a simple cone filter without any coverage just suks hot hot air from the engine bay and the performance specialy at low revs in a hot day goes down I have tested that...

additionaly to give an example.
Landrovers 90-110 and the like usualy perform BETTER with a snorkel and the stock filter box since they intake cold air and not hot from the engine bay

I am getting a CEL, so instead of a cone filter I should try a regular K and N filter for more performance?
