Actually this story surprised me, because I had assumed China was already the number 1 global manufacture, or at least we definately weren't it. But I guess we still are...not for long. Makes you wonder what it would be like here if we actually didn't ship all those jobs overseas or down south. Imagine the wealth that would be retained here and the jobs that would be available. Of course, prices for goods would be a lot higher, but is that really a bad thing? Is anyone happy with their Chinese made garbage anyway?

Well, at least we're still the number 1 global economy for now. China is only number 2. I wonder how long that will last?

I wonder when China in the books as number 1 manufacture, number 1 economy, largest military, largest polluter, largest population, 1 of 5 permanant members of the security counsil, number 1 producer of college educated workers, etc, etc, etc....

....if we're still going to be calling them a developing 3rd world nation. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

The world sure is changing. I wonder if our time is finally over.
