A buddy of mine followed EB's advice for the performance build, and gains were very noticeable in his '84 x-cab turning 37's. Unfortunately he didn't get to enjoy the gains for very long, his rig was stolen less than 4 months after the rebuild.

Remember the one rule of thumb when working on the little 22R/RE engines. They can be improved, but no matter what I or anyone else comes up with, they will never really be a hot rod.

They can be made more fun and it's nice to get over hills without wearing out the gearshift lever....*EB
