I see some truth in the "conversion blue's." I had an '88 with a 350 in it and loved it. Didn't love the gas milage though. My main reason for trying to remain with the 22r is simply simplicity: no more custom motor mounts........and transmission mounts...........and radiator mounts..........and power steering pump mounts.....and exhaust system.........and wiring....and so on and so fourth. I may still go the 4.3 rout one day, but if I can make a 22r pull a set of 36x12.5's at 80mph without straining the guts out of it and taking all day to get up to speed; I'm happy. 80 is fast enough to get anybody a ticket, and I'm beyond the days of paying 250 dollars a piece for a set of tires and then melting them off. *LOL*
If a man throws a wrench and no one is there to see it; does it still count as pitching a fit?

that diesel would be a neat idea. Heavy, but definately neat.

that diesel would be a neat idea. Heavy, but definately neat. If you want to be a pioneer you could try to swap a 4 cyl Jeep 2.8 CRD diesel out of a '05 -'06 Liberty. It is rated at 280 lbs ft of torque. I understand that it has a Mopar small-block bellhousing pattern and also that there is a factory bellhousing that will bolt a small Mopar to a Tacoma R150F transmssion. It is rumored to be a Jeep bellhousing that bolted either the NV3500 or AX15 transmission to the small Mopar. The NV3500, the AX15 and the R150 transmissions are said to share the same transmission to bellhousing mounting pattern. -- Matt
