If you want to be a pioneer you could try to swap a 4 cyl Jeep 2.8 CRD diesel out of a '05 -'06 Liberty. It is rated at 280 lbs ft of torque. I understand that it has a Mopar small-block bellhousing pattern and also that there is a factory bellhousing that will bolt a small Mopar to a Tacoma R150F transmssion. It is rumored to be a Jeep bellhousing that bolted either the NV3500 or AX15 transmission to the small Mopar. The NV3500, the AX15 and the R150 transmissions are said to share the same transmission to bellhousing mounting pattern. -- Matt
