UPDATE:
It started with out pouring gas in the carb last night and then again this am and I drove it to work. I am not sure what fixed the problem, as last night it would not start unless I sprayed some carb cleaner or gas in the carb. But I went to a friends house last night and we were talking about the problem and he suggested making sure the vacuum line going to the distributor advance was not clogged. So I got home and did not try to start the truck, i just pulled the vacuum lines off of the distributer vacuum advance and blew into the lines going to ward the carb. This made no sense to me as i was blowing air in the direction it would be pulling the vacuum. Any way I put the lines back on, got in and the truck started up fine. I think it may have been from sparying carb cleaner into the carb to get it started may have cleaned out what ever was causing the problem.

I did notice one thing on the way to work. The engine seemed to surge and drop idle when I stopped. I adjusted the idle down a little when I got to work. I will see if this resolves the surge problem.

I would like to thank everyone that has made suggestions, as they have all be very helpful. It is great to have a resourse like this.
