d1 is a 2.3
e1 is the 2.6
Neither one is diesel. Not for sure where the stamp is. On the block somewhere I think. It's also on the rear of at least some of the heads. (Look at the image for the 'Tech' forum)

on the 4ZE1 its on the drivers side of the block towards the rear near the bellhousing.
