Getting the Wheeling Fever
Quote
I have seen corrosion problems with the pump mounting bracket, which is what the pressure and return lines pass through as the enter and exit the tank

i'll second that....i used some kind of gasoline resistant jb weld or something along that line, with some sheet metal screws to hold my braket back on it was so bad. i have a '90 and that was 3-4 years ago at least. i know if anything happens to the fuel pump or anything, i'm looking for a new tank, as there is no removing the bracket now.....

I bought my tank from these guys at Discount Radiators. A new tank for your application is currently going for $145.00. Which doesn't include the pump bracket which retails for about $120 from Toyota dealers. I think the online division of Bob Bridge Toyota, also know as 1sttoyotaparts.com sells the bracket for about $89.00 plus shipping.

I've had good luck at my local Toyota dealer by quoting them the online prices from competitors like 1sttoyotaparts.com and asking them if they could give me a better price. They were quick to meet me halfway, which gave them the edge when shipping costs were factored in. It never hurts to ask (politely). -- Matt

Try taking off the skit plate first. There's a drain plug on the bottom that sometime leaks.
Does it leak when it's low on gas? if yes, it's from the sending or return hose. If not, it's the pressure hose. Best is to drain the gas, clean the outside then put everything back. You can surely tell where it's leaking from.
I had a leak recently because the guy that moved my tank to the back didn't leave enough clearance ( just 1/2 in. more )so the sending nipple was pushing up on the body cross member. I just used JBweld and snipped out some metal to clear it.

With all that dirt build up, it's hard to tell where it's leaking from.

If you dont't like religeous holidays, go to work.Otherwise, let's call them what they are.
It's freedom OF religion not from.
