I don't remember but the information is here, do a search for trailer towing. You will find more than you ever needed to know.

FSM says:
4-door - 3500 pounds with trailer brakes, 2000 without.
2-door - 2000 pounds with trailer brakes, 1000 without.

Other folks here have towed in excess of these figures, me included with my Raider...but it was scary!

I have personally towed an extended Dodge Caravan on a car trailer more than once. I also towed a short wheelbase Caravan on a trailer, and once towed a full-size Dodge truck (again on a car trailer). The full size truck was really heavy, so I could only go about 45 mph (got to 55 on a downhill grade once).

I also have rear disk brakes, which makes a world of difference when towing without trailer brakes.

I did some towing with mine as well..

I think those accords weigh in around 2800 or so. Montero pulled it like a champ, just made plenty of room for stopping I did have some trouble on a huge hill I had to climb from a dead stop.. it pulled hard in 2nd, but this was with a bad transmission (4cyl torque converter) too!

(I miss both those cars.. and the trailer!)

My 854wd pickup, with a very similar chassis, once towed a 743 Bobcat skidsteer loader and steel equipment trailer, albeit very, very slowly and with great strain. I figure around 4 tons. Not too shabby for a 5spd 2.6 minitruck...

I tow tractors on my trailer all the time... The real question is not what can it tow it's what can it stop.
My john deere 29hp stops ok but the big 40hp kubota... well I won't tow it any more. It pushed me all over the street.
If I was thinking about a camper I'd tow it with the Monty before I bought it.
I hope this helps

I'll second that. I've towed lots with my SWB with and without trailer brakes. My specially built (camp gear) trailer weighs about 1200 loaded. It has electric brakes. If things go wrong on a dirt road, I want to keep the trailer behind me. I don't like to tow any weight without trailer brakes. Trailers can be retro-fitted with brakes. I would estimate 2500 max with trailer brakes with my SWB for very occasional short distance use.

I have towed up to about 2000 without trailer brakes on one shot deals because I really wanted the tools in another place. I was very careful.

I have towed a lot before 1.5 yards of dirt on a 1,000lbs trailer. I don't plan on going more then 55mph with the camper. I know I will need a to have trailer brakes. Just wonder have any of you towed a camper and what size was it?
