I tow tractors on my trailer all the time... The real question is not what can it tow it's what can it stop.

If I was thinking about a camper I'd tow it with the Monty before I bought it.
I hope this helps

I'll second that. I've towed lots with my SWB with and without trailer brakes. My specially built (camp gear) trailer weighs about 1200 loaded. It has electric brakes. If things go wrong on a dirt road, I want to keep the trailer behind me. I don't like to tow any weight without trailer brakes. Trailers can be retro-fitted with brakes. I would estimate 2500 max with trailer brakes with my SWB for very occasional short distance use.

I have towed up to about 2000 without trailer brakes on one shot deals because I really wanted the tools in another place. I was very careful.
