When you originally installed the seats, did you check to see that each rail was in a similar position (ie: both all the way forward or all the way back)? I've pulled seats before by grabbing the adjustment handle, only to have one of the rails slide to a different position without me knowing it. When I go to reinstall the seat, the rails are offset, causing the whole setup to bind and not want to move all the way forward or backward.

Remedy: pull the seat, pull up on adjustment lever, manually slide both rails FORWARD. This positions them all the way under the seat bottom and is easier to wiggle the seat through the doorway. Loosely mount your four bolts and try moving the seat all the way forward then back a few times.
