c'mon, 'canes. We got about 8" from the edge of Fay in the Chatthoochie basin, and could use 4 times that much. Lake Lanier is up over a foot and still rising...

Remnants of Fay are supposed to be here this afternoon through tomorrow. I wouldn't complain if it left us a couple inches since it's been pretty dry here lately.

The majority of the city is not who you saw on tv looting and killing people. NOLA is a great place because of the people, food, entertainment, everything.

Unless Landraider gets killed by some freak happening, he will be ok come hell and high water at the same time.

I just want to tell you both good luck, and we're all counting on you.

Wonder if Brad Pitt will be down there riding it out with those folks......

N.O. should have worked on that levee and pump system years ago but instead chose to use the money on other projects so I stand by my statement.

I don't know about Pitt, but there is some political happenings that should get interesting. All scheduled for the same hurricane party. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/nana.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" />

Uhm.... no. The <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />"authorities"<img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> came around before Ivan(the one that hammered NorthWest Florida) , and were going door to door <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />"making"<img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> folks sign some sort of paper that was a <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />"notification"<img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />for your next of kin.

I can promise you that no matter what happens, I will enjoy the weather, and unless I get sucked up in a tornado, or a tree falls on me, I will be JUST fine.

There are SO many positives to hurricanes... especially serious ones.

#1 no work
#2 the idiots leave
#3 the prepared stay, and enjoy them selfs.
#4 there is NO traffic
#5 you get to enjoy something that 99.9% of the population on earth has no clue about.
#6 How many people can say they went through katrina? ...Not very many I can tell you that.

It was totally wicked awesome to ride that storm out, and experience something so extreme.

In conclusion, I'll be grinning ear to ear, and the harder it blows, the happier I'll be.
