Like others said, it all depends of the area and how much you are willing to pay. I was amazed that back home in Puerto Rico people still pay $5000 for them and as well as the Samurai and old school Heeps they are currently the hottest item.

I got an 1988 that bought nearly 7 years ago, WOW time is surely flying, and I paid $2,400 and probably have invested right now a bit more than that but, if you ask me how much it is worth to me? PRICELESS.

Back to topic, if you are not comfortable with what the owner is asking, make an offer. I bet the price is negotiable.
