Need a Spot
I just finish taken out the power steering pump out
(1989 3.0l raider, manual) it has a little leak that has been driving me nuts. The pump seems to be wet near the bottom of the suction hose that has 2 screws that bolt on. I have tightened them before but it seems to be wet in that area of the pump. Any way as I set out to purchase one from an auto parts for $181 I discover that they sell a pump seal kit. So IÆm wondering what the verdict on this is. Take it apart and use a kit (about $18.00) or better get one of the shelves. IÆm looking to do this once
Other than this leak I have no complains on the pump with noise or any other issue that I can detect.

I don't have any experience with the repair kits. When mine went bad, I bought a reman Cardone pump from AutoZone or Advance - nott too expensive.... maybe $50... works fine.

Ouch... I see they're $124 now.

RockAuto is $105

That seal kit might be worth a try - or find a replacement in a junkyard.
