Getting the Wheeling Fever
|
I posted a little while back that I had gas leaking down side of tank after recent fill up. Well I finally got to start working on it. I drained gas from plug on bottom of tank using drain plug. Disconnected the filler tube, and 2 other small lines going in to tank. But can not see to disconnect line off fuel pump assembly. So I remove bolts holding tank and slowly start to lower tank using jack and plywood base. I start to lower tank and it goes down a couple inches and starts to tilt so I stopped lowering and look at top of tank as best as I can see and feel.I could barely see a vinyl tube that that felt like it was starting to kink but could feel on end hooked to fuel pump tube. Still not being able to see much or lower tank anymore I decide to cut vinyl tube. After doing so I was able to lower tank. The tank looked solid with know obvious proplems. The lines coming out of tank looked rusty but still good. The high pressure vinyl tube I cut to lower tank had female ends on it and the high pressure tube off fuel pump had a male fitting also male fitting on end of fuel line to tank. My question is can I cut the male fittings off and use high pressure rubber line to make connection.
