yea specially since corrola is in the northern part of the obx. if memory serves me correctly it is about 30-40 minutes to the bridge that goes to the mainland without heavy traffic.so if evac is forced that will be an even longer ride. maybe and hopefully it will lose power and you will be ok for the week.

I don't know if you ever been there but you can drive on the beach all the way to the north of the island.Personally I prefer the nags head area better. more stuff to do in a closer area.I do suggest you hit the sunset grill though ,the food is great, the drinks are wonderfull and you can keep some of the glasses or whatever the cocktails come in.

out of all the jeeps in this town the d**n gremlin had to invade mine

I've done so much, with so little for so long i can practicly do anything with nothing

Leaving tomorrow bright and early. Suppost to be 50mph winds in Richmond today, that would make for some crappy driving.

>>>*As I look at this mornings news I think the next one, Ike, is the concern.

*Heck, they cancelled the NASCAR race and those guys go 200 mph and they got roof flaps....*LOL**...

Here is the plan: Bury a cedar post six feet down, attach a steel post upright to that. Tie a GOOD rope to your leg and hang on.

Out here in the NW we get "sou'westers", I have seen 100 MPH right here at our place so I don't think anywhere is immune to storms. But that Gulf area, good lord!

Every time I have been there is has been so hot nobody would ever need a stove, just cook on the sidewalk. I walked outside the terminal at Dallas and came to a stop due to the heat. I thought that was bad, then we went to Shrevesport and it was hotter, but so wet my clothes were soaked in 30 seconds.

Man can they cook down there, though. *Almost makes it worth it just for that.....*EB

*Beats the he** outa me!....*LOL**...
