The mast quit going up and down. I took it apart and the plastic track is broken (the motor works fine). What is the best way to get into the fender without f-ing up the inner fender? I don't have a trim tool. [

I'm not sure you need to get into the fender. If you have all the plastic corrugated strip out just buy a new antenna and get a friend to help. With no antenna in the hole, put the new plastic end down in it with the stereo ON, then have the friend turn the stereo OFF while you push the plastic strip in. The motor gear should catch and suck the strip down. Of course you have to mess with the mount but that should be fairly straight forward.

Thanks! The plastic broke off inside of the motor, so I had to take the motor out and pull it apart and remove all of the old plastic. It was very easy to put the new antenna in, as it sucked right down AFTER I removed the old plastic!

after my power one finally snapped...I put in the whip. MUCH better! Kinda tough to get at through the fender but that write up should help. Plus pulled out the motor and sold it on ebay for twice what the whip cost me <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
