I had a chance to use the X8000i for the first time today, and I've come to 5 conclusions:

1) Jump starter boxes can't power a winch worth a damn. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/barf.gif" alt="" />

2) Winches, when used with a proper power source, freakin' ROCK! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

3) Having a reciever to connect your reciever-mount winch to probably works much better than chaining it to the bumper. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shiner.gif" alt="" />

4) But the bumper still works. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/nana.gif" alt="" />

5) I don't have clue how to wind the winch back up. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

What I mean by number 5 is that; can I just spool in willy-nilly, or should I unwind it and get a nice left-right stack wind on it?

I'll assume the later, but I thought I'd check.

Thanks,

Wagon Master

I have a Warn X8000i also and it work's ok, about the mounting i remember reading about the 2" receiver hitch that it's rated for only about 5000 pound so you must be careful as you may end up with a airborne winch.
