A lot of places are running out of gas around here.

I just want to tell you both good luck, and we're all counting on you.

This reminds me of the mini gas crisis after Katrina that we went through. And once again its mainly (not only but mostly) the south that is going through it. I guess it pays off having family thats a manager at a gas station, so I found out Thursday afternoon that it was going to go up Friday morning. But I put it off and came home after work without filling up. Woke up mysteriously at 5:30am to the TV talking about gas prices going up, so I went out and filled up plus 6 extra gallons in cans at $3.67 (thank god). Ended up avoiding all the long lines this time around.

When it hit Friday I was on the way to Best Buy to get a new HD to replace the one that died. Went by a Petro Express (Texaco) selling at $3.69, after buying the HD and leaving 15 minutes later it was $3.99. I have heard of gas at $5 a gallon but haven't seen it anywhere, highest I have come across is $4.29 for 87 but thats mostly from stations that are out of gas anyway. Petro Express seems to be the only one with gas regularly, and they are holding at $3.89ish for 87. No more lines at the gas pumps as people hear the news that our supplies of regular will be back to normal by the weekend. But for peace of mind I topped off buying 3 gallons tonight at $3.87. So I still have about 10 gallons of $3.67 in my tank, plus 6 gallons in cans at my house. Hoping in a week or two things will settle down.

Good for Petro Express. It's not hard to find way over $4.00 this way. Most of them are Sunoco or Shell. Others are keeping under $4. A few days before, I was happy to fill up at $3.44. That was on the way to work. On the way home, $3.69...

Yeah good for Petro Express, just sharing my own experience in my area. No reason to get upset about it. If you read back $3.69 was what I filled up at before gas went up to $3.89,$3.99, or higher. So I would consider myself even more fortunate if I was able to get it at $3.44.
