Priority number one: TUNES. Enter Panasonic, on sale at Future Shop for $50 off. Also found a nice hitch from Valley industries that attaches to the frame and the center four bolts on the rearmost crossmember - it looks like I'll even be able to put the tow loop back on over it... we'll see... Still haven't found the truck yet, though.

Haha, that's what I did too Phil. I'm a tech weenie though so went with a USB-key input unit from Kenwood. I don't have an IPOD, and thumb drives are so cheap nowadays.. it's awesome! ![[Linked Image]](http://junkies.wordpress.com/files/2007/03/cd-contest.jpg)

This is funny. Soundsaround had a huge sale on today, and I couldn't pass up on upgrading my current car stereo to a better unit with Bluetooth and a few other goodies. This was $48. Phil, I would love some info on your hitch. Mine's a bit bent and I want to replace it.

You know Phil... You are stalking me. I JUST put that EXACT stereo in my dodge ram last month.
You will Love the in dash USB. Just be careful so you don't rake it off, and break the stick, or socket!

Doh, I didn't even notice the USB input Phil! Good score! Clead-approved. I worried about breaking mine off too, so I was happy to find out that mine ran off a USB pigtail cable that I routed to the lower console, safely out of my clutzy reach.

No photo of mine cause I still suck at the whole phot thing on this site but I have an Alpine and they use a real time jack in the back that runs IPOD and Sirius so everything can be run through the deck and nothing plugged into the front. Very user friendly and great reliability. I have had no issues, even when wheeling.

Well, there's a few more bits in the garage for the new truck... 1. This: (Sirius Sportster 5 - first time user of satellite radio, loving it!!) 2. Then I got this (Infinity 1000-Watt 10in Subwoofer) and this (Bassworks sealed cabinet) to put it in. The sub/box combo was on sale for $99 at Future shop. It was only on for a couple of days, so I did the web-hold-for-pickup thing, and went down today to see it. Nice small enclosure, so I figured it would fit okay. Besides, I need to start thinking in LIMO proportions. I'll have two more feet of length, compared to what I have now... Watching for a good price on 6x9s and 6 1/2s, hoping to stick with Infinity all 'round if they go on sale at the right time... In the meantime, waiting for some more pics and shipping confirmation on the truck.

I'll just warn you again Phil, my Infinity 6.5s did not fit in the doors. I still have them here if you want to try them.

Ed, was it the tweeter that made them too deep? I was looking at them again yesterday evening when I picked up the sub, and the tweeter has this adjustable angle thingy, but it sticks out from the main cone a little bit... hmmmm...

No, lots of room there for a coaxial tweeter. That's more of a problem in the dash. It was the metal ring that protects the surround. Like this: red = old speaker, blue = new surround, black = door card opening I didn't see any way this could be modified at the time with these particular speakers. A different brand of 6.5 might work (like Spinalguy's Sonys) or maybe there were changes to some model's door cards or speaker mounts.
