Not that I want to bring up an old thread but here is an email I recieved about two years ago from Tonni of Team 1000. His race videos can be seen on youtube. I thought it may be useful to some. He has made some fine improvements and he pushes big time psi. He has a 1983 Mitsubish Galant endurance racer with a 4D55 engine.

1983 Mitsubishi Galant endurance racer from Finland
- PP-diesel modified pump with 12mm plunger
- Original TC05 turbo (ported and polished)
- big intercooler
- Exhaust Manifold

- L200 Intake manifold

- Modified original pistons
- 3" Exhaust pipe (no mufflers)
- ported cylinderhead
- Double Valve Springs
- lightened flywheel with sintterclutch

We use 25psi-33psi boost in normal race. Max boost during testing conditions on racetrack is 37psi. At 29psi boost it produced over 200hp/295ft lbs torque on the dyno.

All modifications, parts and machining is my own production because car selling price in endurance racing class is 1150 euro. It cause that all parts must be cheap.
