The oil pan heat pad to me is a must, given that oil gets to be like molasses in the cold, and you won't pickup oil that first 2-3 sec of startup. I use 5W30.

The block heater is for the antifreeze; rig will warm up faster with one. That said, make sure your antifreeze is the proper 'freeze/water ratio. I run mine at 60/40 for up here. Most parts places have them; you need to call and ask your dealer, esp if the rig is still under warranty.

I also use a heat pad for the battery. Keep in mind with living there that you NEVER, EVER jump nor charge a frozen battery. This is a BIG safety no-no.
