I figured out why its doing this, and how to fix it.
Its google ads that are causing the problems. DOnt know exactly why, but thats the problem.
You need to disable google ads. Quickest and easiest way is to disable scripting.
Here's how you do it
Go to Tools >> Internet Options >> Security tab >> Custom Level
Scroll down, toward the bottom, until you reached 'Scripting' >> 'Active Scripting' >> Click Disable

The above fix will fix this problem, but will mess with other things like clicking the smilies in your post.
Not sure how to fix it any other way. Can someone from staff contact google ads, or can they be temporarily removed?

Removing google ads would remove our major source of funding to keep the site on-line.
Perhaps there is another solution.
That does narrow the issue; however, it does not focus it to a specific cause.

If someone can figure out exactly what with Google Ads is causing this, that'd be a huge help for me to resolve it.
I'll also recheck our page code this evening.
Does it happen in the legacy content, or just in the forums?

It did not seem to happen in the legacy article (my article about on-board air). However, I did notice one thing in the legacy stuff that was disturbing. When I went to the Isuzu section, there were double underlined links to Edmunds pages that prevented me from going to the actual topics. This happened with both Safari on Mac OSX and IE. The backwards link on IE that seemed to be causing the problem was http://page2ad.googlesyndication.com/cp

Is there a possibility that upgrading the forums will cure the problem??

Let me know if the problem has cleared now.
In the forum footer, I had left some Google ad code in which I had deactivated via Google. So it was trying to load something that did not exist.
