....I was going to grab kid #2 and go to NAPA before getting kid #1 from school. But I had no water (house) so I waited for it to come back on because boy oh boy do I need a shower. After a few hours, I thought maybe the messed with it again and forgot to turn it on... Back hose works, house...No, track it all down, the pressure limiting valve let go. The pipes coming in here are a dielectric nightmare, and I finally cough a casualty after they replaced the water meter. The iron pipes are threaded right on to the coupling for the bronze meter that go's back to galv. iron to a copper nipple that is soldered on to a coupling to the iron valve....the bronze stem holding the stainless plunger (right in the flow of the water)corroded away and perfectly blocked the feed to the house. I was getting about 3 seconds of full pressure...then Pllllph, Nada.

Anyway, my point, It's a Wilkins valve, they are made not 5 miles from my house. I looked for a rebuild kit for it, I figured 2 or 10 bucks.... No, $59... Replacement 3/4" valve, $46. Why? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
