There are several VSVs (Vacuum Switching Valves) on a 22re. I am assuming this is your reference to an air valve. Post a pic of which one you are having trouble with, and I'm sure we can help. If you can hang on, I'll take some pics while under the hood and see if I can take some that will help show the hose routing. That's about the best I can offer at the moment. The air hoses go one on the valve cover side of the plenum in the middle the other goes on the throttle body look for nipples large size.
