Getting the Wheeling Fever

Sorry to be cluttering up the board with my posts, but I'm stuck without a car so I need as much information as I can get.

I may have a bad ignitor, and because the ignitor/coil set is hard to find I'm wondering if anyone has converted back to an old fashioned coil and distributor with points and condensor. Will this work on a 22R (1984 pickup) carburated engine.

Or, are there any substitutions that can be made with ignitors/coils from other models with just some rewiring required?
