Driving to work the other day and my dash kind of went out. The check engine and airbag light goes on and the tech and speedo go dead. plus the milage numbers change to read "no bus". any ideas?
also it comes and goes.

thanks tom

Body Damage is Cool
Sounds like something has come loose. Does it do this after hitting a bump for example?

I would get under the dash and check for any loose electrical connections. Also check the engine bay along the firewall...I believe the computer is on the passenger side of the firewall.

It just comes and goes, don't have to hit anybumps. But it's funny that when it did go out i was looking for pot holes to hit to see if it would come back on. i'll check the connections. But any ideas as to what the "no bus" means?

The main cluster/ plug behind the dash is famous for that, particularly in '97's. Mine did it off and on for a while, but it turned out to be the main ground ribbon or some related connection that got fixed at the same time, so I never had to open it up and get in there. From what I understand it's a serious PITA. Good Luck.

Yeah, everything going on and off at the same time would lead me to think a serious GROUND problem..

From what I understand there is a big ol plug connection behind the instrument cluster that is infamous for coming loose. Apparently I was lucky it was a ground.
